Mike and his team replaced the knob and tube wiring in our 100 year old house. It was a big job that required opening holes in the walls and ceilings to properly rewire the circuits. Mike's team did a great job installing the new wire while being extremely respectful to our home. They arrived on time and gave frequent updates about the status of the work. Mike and his crew rewired my 96 year-old home, replacing all of the old knob and tube wiring. They installed whole-house surge protection and integrated smoke detectors. Mike clearly explained the process and timeline in advance, and they stuck to it. The job proceeded exactly as I expected. The guys arrived at the same time everyday, worked hard and well, and were always respectful and delightful to be around. They cleaned up every day. Mike, the master electrician, was on site for most of the day, every day. I could not have been more impressed and pleased with their work. I choose Mike Vandergeest after receiving a total of 5 bids for this work (including a couple of low-ball estimates by folks who clearly didn't know what they were doing). Mike is an effective and efficient problem-solving electrician. Our home has had electrical issues (doorbell malfunction, problematic recessed lights) that previous electricians did not solve. In his deliberate and attentive manner, Mike easily proposed solutions and readily remedied the problems after thorough communication. Most recently, Mike and his team installed light fixtures with facility and professional post-installation cleaning. I highly regard Mike and will continue to use him in the future.
